Remember us? Remember what we said?
All the promises you made and broke?
Like how we’d stay together till we were dead.
To you the promise and my heart were just a joke.
All these people just come and go,
None stay. Life is like water.
And so, along it, I row.
Like waves I go to and fro
Not in any direction yet not stationary
Up and down as the moon directs me
Not restricted, yet never free.
So perhaps I need to be the moon, not the ocean
Yet even then I’d revolve around the earth
In this Universe there is no true freedom
We’d forever lie slaves to our own kingdom.
